Greenbuild Show in Boston

We are excited to be showcasing the eco-friendly aspects of our products. Because water is becoming more and more a scarce resource in many areas we think that water conservation should become a more important consideration. We recognize that reducing water flow is one excellent way of reducing water usage at the sink, but ultimately it is the user that is in control of of how much water gets used. Tapmaster faucet activators reduce the amount of time that you need to keep your water running during day-to-day tasks such as washing your hands or brushing your teeth. Because of this it is highly likely that you will enjoy water-savings equal to or greater than flow-restrictor devices. We realize that this is entirely dependant on each individual’s habits and usage, but everyone who we have asked does notice that they use less water.

ADA Meeting in San Antonio

We have returned from the ADA Meeting in San Antonio. The meeting was well attended and we were very pleased to see our new EURO Model displayed on several manufacturers cabinets.

We got lots of positive feedback from customers about the Tapmaster’s Reliability and Customer Service.

We are always trying to figure out new ways to improve our products for our customers. It is a constant effort to figure out what it is exactly that people like and don’t like in their homes or offices and we figure the best people to ask are our customers and potential customers.

Please, either Email us or leave a comment on this post discussing what it is you like about our product or what it is that you would like to see us change or develop. We really do take your comments to heart when we consider future products and product updates.

We would also like to take this opportunity to make it known that the little ‘rod’ or ‘whisker’ that sticks down from the EURO activators is actually a soft rubber part that is easy on your toes and not a hard plastic or metal piece.

Adjusting a Model 1750 Kick Plate

Kick Plate requires adjustment? Adjust the hex nuts only 1/4 to 1/2 a turn at a time. If the kick plate will not stay in the locked position you will need to tighten(clockwise) up the front hex nut, which moves the actuator button closer to the lid. If the kick plate is too hard to lock on or you can’t get it to release easily then you will need to loosen(counter clockwise) the front hex nut and tighten the one in the back by the tubing, which moves the actuator button away from the lid slightly.

Installing a EURO Housing

When installing a EURO housing on the toe kick of the cabinet don’t remove the set screws that attach the cap to the housing, unscrew them only as far as necessary to remove the cap. It can be difficult to position them correctly after the housing is mounted on the toe kick.

Dripping Taps?

If you are experiencing a dripping tap first pinch off the yellow tube between the activator valve and the first valve it is connected to. If this stops the drip then contact us and we will arrange a way to either send you a new part if it is under warranty or offer solutions to help fix the issue.

Canadian and US websites fully functional!

The Canadian website is now up and running completely. For the first time we are able to accept orders from both the US and Canada completely online. This means that Canadians will be charged in Canadian dollars so they don’t have to worry about exchange fees. US customers will of course still be charged in US dollars.

If there are any problems with either site please contact us at info@tapmaster.ca so we can remedy the issue.

It should also be noted that if you have certain parts of our site bookmarked many of the URL’s have changed as of today and need to be updated accordingly. The original URL’s will be up until the end of the year but after that a bookmark to www.tapmaster.ca/products.html (for example) will come up with a page not found error. Just a reminder.

Connecting the Tubes

Pushing the tubes onto the barbs of your new Tapmaster during the final part of the installation can be rather difficult without the proper tools or technique. Many people miss the part of the installation instructions that say to immerse the ends of the tubes in hot soapy water for a few minutes before attempting installation. This softens the ends of the tubes and makes it much easier to push it over the barbs.

Needle-nose pliers and an adjustable wrench are key for this step. The instructions give a very good description of how to use these tools for this specific task.

Also don’t forget to put the plastic sleeves on BEFORE you push the tubes onto the barbs otherwise you will have to pull them off and do it all over again.

Labour Day Weekend Website Updates

Well the labour day weekend is over and we have made some adjustments to our website. Some issues with our online store have been sorted out and the convenience page has been largely re-written to better reflect our product. Further to that this blog has been opened up for customer input, simply register by clicking the link to the right and post in the Customer Feedback category.

Also the major legwork has been done to facilitate the launch of our Canadian specific website. You can preview it at www.tapmaster.ca/ca/. If you run into any errors with links images or content please post up a comment to this post or send us an email at info@tapmaster.ca. The commerce functions of the Canadian site will not be running until later this week so please check back if you would like to buy online. Or simply call us to place your order if you live in Canada and need to order a Tapmaster before our online store is up and running.

Euro foot probe activators officially released!

We are excited to announce that our Euro foot activators have been officially released to the market! Like all of our products we offer models designed for both hot and cold water line applications as well as settings that have only a single water line running into the faucet. However we also offer a few variations in the activator and its features as well.

The Euro can be ordered with or without a locking feature. The locking feature allows you to activate the faucet with your foot and leave it running as you walk away to do something else. However this adds a very limited amount to the cost of the activator so we have decided to offer models that do not feature this.

Further to that, two variations of each model exist. In activators destined for a residential application we reduce the strength of the springs in the activator to make it more bare-foot friendly. This does not affect the durability of the activator, but it does reduce feedback when used with shoes. So be sure to specify where your Tapmaster will end up.

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to clarify that the “probe” that you activate the Tapmaster with is not metal, it is in fact a soft polymer that is easy on your feet.
